New PBC Mask Policy

As you may already know, Palm Beach County just enacted a new order regarding facial coverings in public places. The only change at Harmony will be that students are now required to wear a mask to enter and when exiting the building. The new mask requirement is not mandatory while exercising, so students may remove their mask once class starts with social distancing. (Of course, as always, you may wear a mask/have your child wear a mask throughout class even while exercising if you would prefer.) So to be clear, by order of the new PBC mandate you must arrive at the door wearing a mask to enter. Since Harmony has already been going above and beyond the CDC guidelines, this new order will cause very little difference in how we have been operating thus far.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 561-745-0230 or email us at Info@HarmonyMartialArts.com and we'll get back to you ASAP. Thank you for your patience and for keeping us all safe and healthy!

Opening MONDAY May 18th!

GREAT NEWS! The governor has given us the green light to resume classes on Monday May 18th. We will be making many changes that are necessary to create as safe of a training environment as possible. It will require all of us to be willing to adapt and adjust for the time being. You should have received an email with schedule changes, important updates, and a form that must be completed and turned in before returning to classes - if you have not received it, please email us at Info@HarmonyMartialArts.com and we will resend it ASAP.
Temporary Changes:
  • Staff will wear face masks
  • Social distancing will be a priority from the moment your child enters the school until they depart
  • Classes will be 45 minutes long and times have changed slightly. These minor changes will allow a smooth transition from class to class while maintaining social distance.
  • Drop your child at the main entrance (east side). Parents should remain in their car. Do not drop off in front of the "NO Stopping Signs" as you exit the parking lot. This is very dangerous to children and blocks traffic flow
  • Please do not arrive for class or drop your child earlier then 5 -10 minutes before their scheduled class time. We will be outside the door to greet children and transition them immediately through the lobby and onto the mat
  • Krav Maga students will need to bring a face mask to put on when social distancing is not possible. For example, while holding targets, holder will wear a mask but the student striking may drop/remove mask while striking. So at least one partner has a mask on at all times (of course you can wear a mask at all times if you wish). Masks will not be required when entering the school or during class when social distancing is possible.
  • Students must arrive in uniform and wearing shoes (sorry no shoes, no class). The changing rooms will not be available except to use the bathroom.
  • No parents or guests will be permitted in the lobby at this time. Most evidence suggests that children may be less susceptible to COVID 19. This temporary step will help ensure we can maintain social distancing and minimize potential exposure. Sorry for this one, but it is necessary and temporary!
  • Pick up: Your child will exit their class by the front door (north side, next to hair salon). Parents should be parked in the front parking lot, standing outside next to their car so they can quickly wave to their child. Important: Please be respectful to the other tenants in this building and other parents. Do not block the parking lot. You must pull into a parking space while waiting. Failure to park will mean a staff member will need to leave their responsibilities inside to ask you to park before releasing your child
  • The mat will be marked with X's 6 feet apart so students can maintain social distance though out. For the time being there will be no hand-to-hand self defense training or sparring. No need to send sparring gear for now
  • The new 45 minute class schedule will provide us with the time to sanitize all door handles, equipment and surfaces between each lesson
  • Kick shields and targets will no longer be shared, they will be used only once and taken out of circulation until sanitized
  • Use provided hand sanitizer as soon as you enter.
  • No scanning attendance cards (we will enter your attendance)

Thank you all for standing by your martial arts school during this challenging time. I both humbled and eternally grateful for your outpouring of support and devotion to Harmony! Together, I am confident we will work through this next uncharted stage and move back towards a life of normalcy.

Online Classes AVAILABLE NOW!

We are so excited to announce that we will be providing our members twice weekly online classes. That classes are twice a week is good, but the great part is you can repeat them multiple times through out the week! They are designed to keep you fit, engaged and moving toward your goals during this temporary challenge. Children AND adult students will get credit towards advancement in rank for completing the online classes, and those in our children’s programs will be able to earn stripes for their belts when they are due while taking the online classes. Again, please be sure to subscribe to our YOUTUBE CHANNEL now so you will be notified each time your next class is posted.
Please check the Coronavirus updates blog post on our website daily, as we will be reporting any changes there first. Thank you for your dedication, and for continuing to support your martial art school during these most challenging times.
It is our goal to release your lessons on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:00pm. The reason we decided to use YouTube as opposed to Zoom or another platform was so that you could take the class on your schedule. Once we post a lesson, the class can be taken any time and even repeated. I highly recommend that children have a set times for their twice weekly lesson to build a routine. You can watch on any tablet or device but best if you can play on your smart TV.

Tips on how to use these classes:

1. Login and subscribe to our YouTube channel. Subscribing is the only way you will get a notice each time we post your next lesson.

2. Click 'Playlists' and find your class. Example: Kids TKD beginner, Adult Krav Maga, Kids TKD Advanced, etc.

3. Get in uniform, and clear a space as large as possible to practice. If you are not practicing on carpet, a Yoga mat or something similar would be very helpful for ab work, stretching, and ground work.

4. Click on Lesson #1 for your specific class (Kids beginner / intermediate / Adv / Adult Krav Maga ect) and get started! Once you have completed the lesson, leave a comment below the video with your first name, last initial, your rank (ie: Blue belt, Camo Yellow belt, Krav Level 1, etc.), and telling us you completed the class (you can say "Done!" or "Crushed It!" or something like that - not just "Checking In" or "Hello", since we need it to be clear that you actually took the class!). Important: You must be a subscriber to our channel to leave a comment and get credit toward advancement for completing the class. If your YouTube account has restrictions (like kids only), you may not be able to comment below the video after you or your child has completed the lesson. Options are to use your account (not your child's), or you can email us each time your child has completed a lesson.

5. Use the other videos on our channel for more detailed help if you or your child needs more help with TKD forms, self defense or Krav Maga requirements.

6. There is no reason you cannot repeat the lesson on multiple days! We all have a lot of time on our hands so why not practice everyday! Parents: Kids' physical activity is very limited right now, I strongly suggest you tell them they have martial art class 4-5 days a week while there is no school, at the same time everyday. It's P.E. class!

7. Make it a family affair. Parents, tell your child you are starting TaeKwonDo and take the kids beginner class with them. They would LOVE IT! Just be sure they are also completing their required class as well, assuming they are not a beginner. Brothers, sister's and spouses who not in our program can all join the fun!

8. Important: Schedule your or you child/s class for same time everyday! Children particularity thrive with schedules (we all do better). For example, parents, you can tell your kids, "TaeKwonDo/Krav starts in a half an hour". This will get them mentally prepared to break away from what ever else they are doing, just as if your were getting in your car and heading to Harmony.

9. These workouts are designed to be practiced alone and without equipment, but if you have someone who can hold target(s) for you and would like to purchase them, they are readily available on Amazon. We'd also recommend ordering from https://www.centurymartialarts.com/ for real quality equipment.

And that's it! Enjoy your classes and get in a good workout 😉.

Coronavirus Updates

Check back here regularly for any updates or schedule changes.
UPDATE 03/20:The Governor has mandated that all non-essential business close immediately in Palm Beach County. Obviously, that includes Harmony. Online TaeKwonDo and Krav Maga classes will be posted to our YouTube Channel starting next week. Be sure to subscribe now to our YouTube channel so you will be notified as your or your child's classes are posted!
UPDATE 03/18: We are so excited to announce that in addition to in-person classes here at Harmony, we will soon be offering twice weekly online classes for those of you who have understandably decided to practice ‘social distancing’ during this time (and also for our students who just want some extra training at home!). Children AND adult students will get credit towards advancement in rank for completing the online classes, and those in our children’s programs will be able to earn stripes for their belts when they are due while taking the online classes. Again, please be sure to subscribe to our YOUTUBE CHANNEL now so you will be notified when we start online classes and, more importantly, each time your next class is posted. We hope to begin offering these online classes late next week, and we’ll be providing you with more information before then.
UPDATE 03/16: In addition to the measures below, as of today students will not be scanning their attendance cards when entering class. Instead, we will be manually entering each student into the system to log individual class attendance.
If you will not be attending class, please visit and subscribe to Harmony's YouTube channel, where you can view videos of all Taekwondo Forms and Self-Defenses, as well as all of the Krav Maga Level 1 curriculum! If you are choosing to stay home, this is a great way to practice - and, if things progress further, we will begin updating the channel frequently with new content so all our students can continue their training online.
03/12: As we are all dealing, learning and evolving with the Coronavirus outbreak, I wanted to assure you that we at Harmony have always taken great pride in our facility’s cleanliness and have stepped up efforts since the onset of the news of the Coronavirus. We are doing everything possible to ensure that Harmony remains a safe, healthy and positive environment.
Steps include:
  • The entire facility, mats, floors and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized daily with a hospital grade disinfectant (always have been)
  • All door handles, metal surfaces and counter top surfaces are sanitized multiple times daily.
  • We have stopped the tradition of handshakes and high fives during class and at the end of class.
  • We have a Purell hand sanitizer on the wall to the left of the main entrance. We will have all students use it before entering the training floor. We recommend washing hands or using the hand sanitizer again as you leave the facility.

Reminder: Shoes must be worn when entering the school and must remain on until entering the mat. That means shoes on at all times in the lobby.
Obviously if you or your child is not feeling well, you should not train. Better to err on the side of caution.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication.
Jim Campbell
Owner / Master Instructor

Check In For Good!

Did you know that every time you 'check in' on Facebook at the Harmony Martial Arts center, we make a donation to a very worthy cause? This month, we are excited to partner with Soles4Souls to help provide shoes to people who need them. Soles4Souls turns shoes into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use - providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty. Soles4Souls is helping get shoes to the people who need them most, whether that’s new shoes to people in times of need, or gently used shoes to entrepreneurs in developing countries so that they can start and sustain a small business. Because something as simple as a pair of shoes can make a big difference.
You do not even have to enter the building to check in - it can be done right from your car when dropping off your child. If you need help learning how to 'check in' on your Facebook Page, please just ask and we will be happy to show you! Every 10 check-ins help provide a pair of shoes to someone in need. If you want to learn more about Soles4Souls, you can check them out at www.soles4souls.org. The hashtag this month is #giveshoes.
With your help, we will continue to demonstrate that Harmony is about so much more than just punching and kicking. Thanks for checking in to help wear out poverty!

New Website!

Great news!! Harmony's website has gotten an upgrade 🎉. You will now be able to get more out of the website, from seeing what rank(s) you currently hold (and what rank is next), to even accessing billing information. Our kids programs should also allow you to see what technique is required for each black stripe on your belt, right from your own personal account page.

You should have received an email invitation from our website manager, EFC Aquila, with a link to activate your member account and set up your login credentials. (Be sure to check your spam folder if you do not see the invite!) If your family has more than one student under the same email address, you will receive multiple activation emails, but only need to set up your account once - once logged in, you will be able to switch between student profiles by clicking the blue circle picture in the upper right corner, and then selecting the name of the student whose profile you would like to view.

The blog section of our Members Area now looks a little different but is still there! You can access it by logging into the Member's Area (always accessible by clicking the three-line menu button on the top-left our website's homepage and then clicking the words 'Members Login'). Once logged in, click the 'Assessments' button on the left side of the screen; from there, towards the bottom of the page (you may need to scroll down a bit), you will see a line that says 'Members Only Section' - it should be in an area called Monthly Assignments, and have a blue check mark next to it. Clicking that link will take you to a page full of PDFs, where you can select whatever you need, be it the Path to Advancement for our adult Krav Maga members, or the monthly Powerful Word homework assignment that our younger members need to complete.

We've been working towards this update for a while behind the scenes, and we're thrilled to finally be able to share it with you all. We're still working on getting everyone's programs and ranks up-to-date, so don't worry if you click on your profile and something seems a little off - your ranks and classes taken are safe, it's just a matter of us finalizing data entry. If you do have any questions or run into any trouble, though, please reach out (either by email, by phone, or in person) and we'll do our best to help!
